Coordinator
Salina Ting
Salina Ting (she/her) is a first-generation Cambodian-Chinese American multidisciplinary artist. She is an eco-enthusiast who awes over nature and often finds connections to her surroundings. She is currently attending URI for her bachelor’s in business to develop her art career. At CRC, you’d likely see her buzzing around as a Shift Lead, and furthermore, she hopes to aid artists in their artistic career in her role as an Artist Residency Coordinator. Salina also goes by Blooming Dyad, which is based on the dynamic muse between her and her daughter, Sophia. Her mission is to preserve the innate artistic spark within us through their artwork. One random fact about Salina: She participates in plastic-free July each year!

Who was Barbara Grandis?
Barbara Grandis (April 1, 1932 - March 2, 2022) is the beloved grandmother of Elizabeth Ochs, the founder and directorsof the Creative Reuse Center of RI.
Barbara, called “Mims” by family and “Bobbie” by friends, studied at the Art Students’ League and Parsons, and was a lifelong professional artist.
Mims was always sketching and painting and her kids, grand children, and great grandchildren were always encouraged to join along. Anyone could be her subject and anything could be her canvas. Some of her greatest sketches were made on receipts and napkins.
For Mims, life was art, and art was life. She encouraged magical thinking and met life with laughter. If we ever got stuck, she would exclaim, “Go baby, go!”
We dedicate this residency in her honor and share her beloved memory with her friends and family: her children and their partners: Vanessa and Peter Ochs, Susan and Steven Goldstein; her grandchildren and their partners: Juliana and Yaacob Dweck, Elizabeth Ochs and Taylor Ellowitz, David and Kelsey Goldstein and Scott Goldstein; her great-grandchildren: Harry, Emma, and Isaiah, and her siblings and their partners: Ephraim and Barbara Weinstein, Phyllis and Neil Nissel, and Sheldon and Leslie Weinstein.
